Welcome to a fabulous new school year at M.C. Cash, an A+ School of Excellence. We are very excited about this school year and know that it promises to be our best year yet filled with opportunities for our students and parents. This will be a wonderful year filled with meaningful, engaging, and rigorous work in the classrooms and multiple opportunities for students to engage in extracurricular clubs and activities, performing arts groups, and athletic teams and events.
This year we will continue to build on the academic and behavioral foundations we have created. Our mission is to ensure that M.C. Cash is a learning community where all students achieve high levels of academic, social, and emotional success within an empowering environment.
We have worked diligently to ensure that we are providing our students with a staff of highly qualified educators and support personnel who are 100% committed to our mission. We pledge to provide a quality and rigorous learning environment for all our students that will provide them with continual growth, leadership opportunities, and achievement at high levels.
We will continue to focus on our blended learning model. We will use a combination of teacher-directed instruction and computer-based instruction to address the needs of targeted groups of both struggling and advanced learners. We want to ensure that we are providing the most focused interventions possible for our students. All students will continue to have access to Stride Academy, which is a digital, game-based learning program, customized to accelerate learning in English Language Arts and Math, by providing supplemental online practice, tutoring help, and intensive intervention. We will be using Achieve3000, a digital, cloud-based, literacy program that provides daily, differentiated instruction for non-fiction reading and writing that is individualized for each student’s reading level, for our students participating in our intervention program. We will also be moving forward with our Problem Based Learning (PBL) initiative. PBL is a student-based method and practice of teaching about a subject through the experience of solving an open-ended problem. This allows the students to work collaboratively and allows for the students to develop their critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills.
We will continue to provide multiple opportunities for our families and community to become a part of our Kids at Hope school.
As always, we highly value home/school communication. It is vital and plays an integral role in each student’s success.
Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time. We want to encourage all our parents to stay informed regarding their child’s progress.
Here’s to a FABULOUS year!
